Former head of Federal government’s investments in green renewable energy named to Eemax Board.
December, 2012 – Waterbury, CT – Eemax, Inc., the market leader in commercial and residential tankless heaters, has added Jonathan Silver as a New Board Member.

Mr. Silver has had a long and distinguished career in the investment business and most recently lead the federal government’s $50 billion dollar investment program in alternative energy, financing a wide range of solar, wind, geothermal, biofuels, fossil and nuclear energy projects. In this role, he also worked closely with other federal agencies on multiple energy efficiency initiatives. Mr. Silver is currently a Visiting Distinguished Senior Fellow at Third Way, a Washington DC-based think tank, where his work focuses on energy policy and finance, and Senior Advisor on Energy Investments for a leading private equity fund. He is also on the Advisory Board of Sol Systems, the nation’s largest SRECS aggregator. Earlier, Mr. Silver was the co-founder of Core Capital Partners, a leading venture capital firm with investments in advanced manufacturing, batteries and information technology and Managing Director at Tiger Management, then one of the country’s largest hedge funds. He began his career at McKinsey and Company, a global management consulting firm.
Mr. Silver has served on, or chaired, numerous corporate and non-profit boards, including the Federal City Council (business organization), WETA (public television), and American Forests (conservation). He also served as a special advisor to the Chancellor of the DC public schools.
Mr. Silver is a graduate of Harvard University and did graduate work at the Institute of Political Studies in Paris and the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva and has received both Fulbright and Rotary Graduate Fellowships.
