How many times have you had to come up with a hot water solution requiring a high gallon-per-minute dump rate?
A great example of this challenge was a 450-gallon baptismal font (immersion pool) that was recently taken on by Eemax. The church had been using a 50 gallon electric tank to fill. This caused a significant amount of time to be scheduled for the pool to be filled before baptism services could be performed.
Using our sizing spreadsheet, I was able to size a HomeAdvantage II™ heater to create a hybrid design supplement and utilize the existing 50 gallon tank, providing a cost-effective solution within the electrical constraints of the building. With this hybrid design, Eemax was able to generate a first-hour delivery of 429 gallons of hot water, that’s 6.4 GPM at 105°F, filling 450 gallons in 70.3 minutes.
For an even faster fill, you could specify two 27kW HomeAdvantage II units, totaling 54 kW into that same 50 gallon tank which would then flow 9.3 GPM and fill the same pool in a mere 48.38 minutes.
